Ethics and Primary Students

This case study from New Zealand looks at the findings from three primary classrooms concerning the teaching and learning of ethics in science. The research explored the ways in which the three teachers used the Ethics in science planner (link included) to plan an ethical exploration with their students. Teachers reported positive results.

President's Commission on Bioethics

To support ethics education and facilitate the integration of bioethics into traditional and non-traditional educational and professional settings, the Presidential Commission for the Study of Bioethical Issues (Bioethics Commission, 2009-2017) has developed pedagogical materials to facilitate easy access to the material in its reports by professors, instructors, practitioners, and the public.

Center for the Study of Ethics in the Professions at IIT

The Center for the Study of Ethics in the Professions (CSEP) at the Illinois Institute of Technology was established for the purpose of promoting education and scholarship relating to the professions. Among their many resources, they maintain an online collection of professional codes of ethics.

The national science frameworks, such as Project 2061 and NAS, view ethics as an important consideration if we view K-12 students seriously as authenic scientists.
